February is overloaded with birthdays for my family and usually, it is Chinese New Year and a Valentine. So, this is what happened when you have a family member whose birthday is near Valentine and Chinese New Year, he gets the idea that it is outdone by Chinese New Year totally and when Valentine, who wants to celebrate birthday right?
This is an attempt to combine Valentine and Birthday celebration into one or rather incorporate Valentine elements into a birthday party just before Chinese New Year! Here is some menu that I want to try:-
Pastries that melt in the mouth usually is quite buttery and oily. They can be difficult to handle and any wrong proportions of ingredients could end up too dry or crack or too soft. Here is one recipe that I have used over and over again. I have used it for two purposes:-
1) Pineapple Tarts Pastry
2) Mini Tarts for Fruits or Tuna Cheese (I always prefer the savoury taste.)
When I first started to make this recipe, I tried with one portion, added another portion and finally found out in one festive season, I could use 4 portions of this pastry recipe. I make them 4 portions now, store them in the fridge and use them mainly for pineapple tarts, any leftover then can consider to make Mini Tarts for Tuna Cheese or Fruits.
1) Sift all the flour, corn flour, Custard Powder and Icing Sugar into a bowl.
2) Add in Butter
3) Mix them well with fingers
4) Add in Egg Yolks
5) Mix till smooth consistency, store them in a plastic bag and put in the fridge for an overnight before use. The pastry can be stored and use up to a week.
It takes a bit of effort to make this large portion in a large bowl but it is worth it and it is just one time job for many hundreds of delights. This 4 portions recipe could make with 2 Kg of Pineapple fillings which roughly make into 280-300 rolled Pineapples Puffs.
This is a photo journal of trip to KL over one weekend that I got to spend with Elliot at KLCC area. It was a good pick from Air BnB and walking distance to KLCC is only 10 minutes and a pleasant walk. There is the shopping at Suria KLCC. The rest of attractions I have done them all - PetroSains, Twin Towers, Aquarium.

Vortex Suite is compact place with functional space for sitting room, dining room and a kitchen on top of a regular hotel room.
Since there was a kitchen (although the oven was broken), I managed to cook up Chickens using boiling method! We had two dinners at our "home".

On Sunday 11 February 2018, I decided to visit Elliot's Hope Church KL at PJ area and Pastor Simon shared on Traits of Spirituality and a simple check-list.
After church service, there was packed lunch provided and each Life Group sat together and this was the Young Adults group that Elliot joins. Some of the members have left KL for home for the CNY holidays.
There are many good songs in The Greatest Show and this is one of them.
